A collection of costumes and props from hit US drama Mad Men has been donated to the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.

Cast members Jon Hamm, John Slattery, Christina Hendricks and creator Matthew Weiner attended an event in Washington to present the items to the museum.

They included ad man Don Draper's trademark grey suit and fedora and other real 1960s-period props.

They will be featured as part of an exhibit on American culture in 2018.

The museum's entertainment curator, Dwight Blocker Bowers, said Mad Men producers did the best research he had ever seen for a TV show, with meticulous detail to create the look of a 1960s ad agency.

Among the donated props included shaving kits, toothbrushes, bottles of alcohol, a packet of cigarettes and watches.

Weiner said he was thrilled items from the show might one day be seen during a school field trip at the Smithsonian.

"What I love about these objects being here is that these are for the most actual objects; they are not recreation," he said. "This is the archaeological site of humanity from this period. We're glad that we saved these things.''

Charlie Collier, the president of US network AMC which airs the show, said the show's creators were honoured Draper's suit would join Dorothy's ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz and other objects from entertainment history at the museum.

"You know, they say that all good things must come to an end, and all great things come to the Smithsonian," he said.

Mad Men returns to US screens for its final seven episodes on 5 April.

#The rise of highly sensitive parents
Ask any parent of young children whether they've ever felt overwhelmed, and the answer will probably be: yes. Even in the most relaxed households there can be days when the noise, mess and chaos seem to spiral out of control, leaving parents exhausted and irritated. Toddlers don't have an off button or a quiet voice.

As normal and common as this feeling is, there's a personality trait that can make everyday family life more overwhelming for some parents than others. Roughly 20-30% of the population are classed as being a highly sensitive person (HSP), according do a 2018 research paper – a trait receiving greater recognition by scientists as well as the general public. This sensitivity can relate to smells, sights or sounds. People who have it may, for example, find it hard to cope with bright lights and loud noise, and can find chaotic situations very stressful. It can also involve a heightened awareness of other people's moods or feelings, and come with a particularly strong sense of empathy.

Add the demands of parenting into the mix, and it surely sounds like a recipe for disaster. On top of the daily sensory and emotional overload, highly sensitive parents may face the additional challenge of caring for children who are also highly sensitive (being highly sensitive is thought to be 47% heritable).

Fortunately, though, the trait also comes with certain advantages, research suggests. For those affected, learning to understand these nuances could help turn parenting into a more joyful and enriching experience, rather than an overwhelming one.

Think Succession(本周末进入决赛)、Parasite、The Menu、Glass Onion、The White Lotus和Triangle of Sadness。

Ron DeSantis

Raffaele Sollecito has said being acquitted of the murder of UK student Meredith Kercher by Italy's highest court was like "being born again".

Speaking for the first time since a final ruling exonerated him and former girlfriend Amanda Knox, Mr Sollecito said he had been "branded a killer".

Ms Kercher, 21, was stabbed to death in 2008 in the Perugia flat she shared with Seattle native Ms Knox.

Mr Sollecito spent four years in prison in Italy after being convicted in 2009.

He was freed along with Ms Knox in 2011 after the convictions were overturned and Ms Knox returned to the US. But the pair were found guilty again by another court last year.

The Court of Appeal ruling on Friday will be the last in the case and so brings to a close a seven-and-a-half-year ordeal for the pair.

'Marked for life'
Speaking at a news conference in Rome, Mr Sollecito described the years since his arrest as a "dreadful kind of pain without an end".

"It is time I will never be able to recoup. My mind and my soul will be marked for life, and the wound will never stop bleeding, it will never heal."

Sollecito: "There were too many horrible moments"
Mr Sollecito said he was informed of the decision over the phone late on Friday night, by his sister.

"The most beautiful moment without a doubt was the one that put an end to the nightmare, the call from my sister after the reading of the sentence and the total acquittal from the High Court," he said.

He added that his relationship with Ms Knox had been distorted by the press, describing it as "simply affection between two young adolescents".

"Neither of us could have envisaged this absurd and never-ending story."

Undated family handout photo
Meredith Kercher, 21, was found dead in the flat that she shared with Ms Knox
Both Mr Sollecito and Ms Knox always denied being involved in the crime, with the American claiming that an early confession was obtained under duress.

Asked about the victim, Mr Sollecito said he "hardly knew" Ms Kercher.

"I am very sorry that Meredith's family is disappointed about this verdict. The verdict reflects the truth. It reflects what really happened. I have nothing to do with this crime. I hardly knew Meredith. I just said hello to her a few times and I had no reason to hate her or to be a part of this heinous crime."

Arline Kercher, Meredith's mother, said she was "shocked" by the decision.

Ms Knox said she was "full of joy" after being acquitted.

The reasoning behind the acquittal will be made public in 90 days.

Rudy Guede, from the Ivory Coast, was convicted of Ms Kercher's murder in 2008 and is serving a 16-year prison sentence in Italy.
